IM Events features the areas of Tampa Bay for 1500 guests at MOSI
“I just wanted to take a moment to thank you and your team for helping to make our event such a success! Everything was perfect, from the hay bales in the southern area, to the Greek columns in the Tarpon Springs themed area. The Cigar lounge on top of the dome was the highlight of the party. I can’t thank you enough for all you did to help us pull off an outstanding and flawless event!!”

The Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) held their annual conference at MOSI this year with 1500 guests from around the world, and IM Events was tasked with the honor of enhancing MOSI’s amazing spaces to showcase the roots of Tampa Bay. ASTC is an organization that is comprised of different museums, science centers, and other institutions that have the main goal of promoting and teaching citizens of all ages the importance science plays in our daily lives.
The first section of the museum was transformed to show the Greek roots of Tarpon Springs. From the blue and white cocktail tables with Greek themed centerpieces, the area also featured Greek columns and statues. A fabulous thematic seafood display featuring a boat full of sushi adorned with crab traps, netting, and dock pylons, captured the atmosphere of the sponge docks.
The Gulf Beaches were featured in the next area as the guests entered through white picket fencing with beach towels, buckets, boogie boards, and other fun beach items. The high top tables were covered with beautiful light blue linen, fish net overlays, and the centerpieces were small bubble bowls with votive candles surrounded by sand and seashells. To complete the beach atmosphere, a life guard in a large chair with his surfboards by his side looked over the guests.
The MOSI Welcome Center building showcased the Southern hospitality! Hay bales adorned with sunflowers made the perfect entrance. The simplicity and relaxation of the southern lifestyle was highlighted in this area. The cocktail tables with red checkered linens were topped with simple, yet elegant, sunflower Mason jar centerpieces. IM Events custom made Whiskey barrel bar was the perfect touch, as well as the hay bale seating area surrounding corn hole games customized with Florida college logos.
Upstairs the guests found themselves in a room dedicated to the great city of Ybor. Market lighting in the ceiling embraced the feel for the area that also featured a custom-created old world wooden bar. Brick walls completed the décor capturing the feel of old Ybor.
Guests also enjoyed the spectacular view of the city on the rooftop area where they experienced a Tampa cigar roller and a wooden barrel Bourbon bar.
This multiple theme event design was a challenging and rewarding experience and IM Events was honored to have the opportunity to feature the many great areas of Tampa Bay.
